Sara Joy Music

Sara Joy is the embodiment of someone who loves and lives music. Passionate about music and education from a young age, Sara has completed her Grade 10 Piano Royal Conservatory exam and Grade 4 History and Harmony, as well as a degree in Orchestral Performance on clarinet from Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to completing her Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario, Sara has also pursued education in voice through private lessons with various university professors and professionals as well as attending workshops and conferences across Ontario and in New York City.

Sara is an accomplished and sought after music director having been involved in  musical theatre productions in Sarnia, London, and Oakville. In addition to musical theatre, Sara has also been the assistant conductor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra, the Wilfrid Laurier University Wind Orchestra, the Oakville Wind Orchestra, and the Grand River New Horizons Band, as well as the conductor of several Laurier New Music Ensembles. She has directed the Hidden Talents show choir (2011) and the Great Lakes Dance Academy show choir (2011-12), as well as the music director of Triple Threat Theatre which runs a summer camp as well as a fall theatre session.  She also taught Grade 7-12 vocal music and conducted two choirs at Appleby College in Oakville last year.
 
Sara combines her unique passion and compassion when teaching voice, choir, band, piano, clarinet, saxophone and theory, encompassing over ten years of combined experience in the public and private education systems, private lessons, and camps.
 
Sara  is currently working for the Lambton Kent District School Board as an Occasional teacher and teaches private music lessons out of her studio.
